You will be the on-floor leader during service, ensuring that all customer interactions are positive, efficient, and aligned with the bakery’s standards.<hr>Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership &amp; Development<ul><li>Supervise, motivate, and support the retail team to consistently deliver outstanding customer service.</li><li>Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback to FOH team members.</li><li>Assist with the recruitment, onboarding, and upskilling of new retail staff.</li><li>Support performance management processes by reinforcing expectations and addressing concerns in a timely manner.</li></ul>Retail &amp; Operational Management<ul><li>Oversee daily retail operations, including counter service, barista station workflow, product display, and customer queue management.</li><li>Maintain clean, organised, and well-presented FOH areas, including counters, cabinets, seating areas, and POS stations.</li><li>Monitor stock levels for retail items (packaging, takeaway supplies, condiments, merchandise) and communicate replenishment requirements.</li><li>Assist with daily and weekly ordering for FOH stock as required.</li><li>Ensure that product displays are visually appealing and rotated in line with food safety and freshness standards.</li></ul>Customer Service &amp; Experience<ul><li>Ensure every customer receives a warm welcome and a positive, brand-aligned experience.</li><li>Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and constructively.</li><li>Support the retail team in delivering consistent service standards and maintaining the bakery’s reputation.</li></ul>Administrative &amp; Reporting Duties<ul><li>Assist with preparing rosters and adjusting schedules where required.</li><li>Open and/or close the shop, including retail setup, packdown, and securing the premises.</li><li>Manage daily takings, cash handling, and POS reconciliation in line with company procedures.</li><li>Ensure correct labelling, pricing, and stock rotation of all displayed products.</li><li>Report operational issues, maintenance needs, and customer concerns to management promptly.</li></ul>Collaboration &amp; Communication<ul><li>Work closely with the Bakery Manager, bakery, pastry, oven and barista teams to ensure smooth coordination between production and retail operations.</li><li>Support management in implementing new systems, retail initiatives, product launches, and promotions.</li><li>Participate actively in team meetings and contribute to service improvements.</li></ul><hr>What We’re Looking For<ul><li>Previous experience in a customer-facing retail or hospitality environment, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory position (essential).</li><li>Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, support, and guide a diverse team.</li><li>A genuine passion for providing excellent customer service and enhancing the customer experience.</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm and efficient during busy periods.</li><li>Excellent communication, organisational, and time-management skills with high attention to detail.</li><li>Positive, hands-on attitude and the ability to lead by example.</li><li>Working knowledge of food safety, hygiene requirements, and workplace safety standards.</li></ul>&nbsp;&nbsp;
